Papua New Guinea has long held the reputation for world class diving and Kavieng is the pelagic capital in PNG's crown.
The clear waters of the Bismarck Sea and Pacific Ocean flush through the atolls and passages and provide the currents that attract an abundance of marine life.
Manta rays, sharks and schooling pelagics are among the attractions. World War 2 wrecks including aircraft and submarines also make for interesting dives.
Kavieng Harbour has several wreck dives within close proximity. Mini subs can be found further out between the New Ireland mainland and New Hanover. These wrecks range in depth from 13 - 25 meters.
Dive expeditions concentrate on the areas around Kavieng and New Hanover, averaging three dives per day at any one location. All weights, belts, fins, masks, tanks and BCDs are available for guests to use, or personal equipment can be brought along.
