For 7 days the Cator family sailed with Imajica from Kavieng to Rabaul and onto the 5 day trek into the Bainings for the spectacular Fire Dance. A visit along the way to the Shark Callers of Tembin village ended in a sucessful catch. Check out the photos
Matt, Kelly, Stephen and a crazy French bloke joined us for a ten day exploratory dive expedition. The French accent made it hard to work out if his name was Cedric or Fredrick but he took some pretty nice photos anyway. So what did these Dive instructors from Cairns think about PNG diving? Well they're all coming back!
Nicky, Chloe, Anna and Mel from Sydney just finished a trip with us to the west coast of New Ireland. We stopped for many dives along the way including two very clear dives off Djaul Island. Then continued on towards Tembin village for another attempt at seeing the Shark Callers catch a shark. The eight days went so fast and our last night we spent on the small tropical island of Ral, cooking kau kau chips over the fire while the sun went down.
The aim was to relax, dive, surf, sail and experience the natural ambiance of the tropics, and of course sample the local brew. Despite the general lack of swell, there was always a wave to catch. We surfed Picaninnies, Vala Vala, Nago but the best was double overhead lefts off New Hanover.
Dan and Naomi from Victoria Australia spent 12 days with us circumnavigating New Hanover. For the final four days we called in to villages each night and 'borrowed' their fire as our gas had run out. Sometimes the old ladies simply cooked our food for us rather than watch as we fumble over the flames. It actually turned into quite a good thing and we met many friends. Thanks Dan & Naomi, we had a great time! Jesse
